High Tide Cafe in Charleston

Found this place randomly when visiting Coos Bay and decided take a chance! Amazing seafood linguine! There was a limited menu (probably because of the pandemic) but there were great choices.

Good food but a little pricey

Pretty dark inside. But it was a gorgeous day to sit outside and they had lawn games and golf putters so the kids to putt golf balls. The deep fried rockfish was soggy and not so great. But clam chowder was awesome.

Gerat food. Family loves seafood. I dont. A few more chicken or steak options would be great.

This place is great! We got the tuna melt and the chowder in a bread bowl, and both were incredible. Will definitely go back the next time we are in the area.

This is a GREAT place! The best chowder I have had in a long time. The only place we will come now when we are over here.

A friend recommended High Tide Cafe to us and ordered take out, food was ready on time and tasted Devine.

Amazing chowder and desert menu, the food was amazingly fast. Unfortunately the fries weren't quite crispy. The server, Alisha was perfect at her job. They have free WiFi!

First time ive been there.excellent food

Great place! We asked Chef Steve what was best when we first walked in. He gave a sample of clam chowder and I was sold on that. He also recommended the special albacore tuna salad. Delicious! Got a flight of 4 beers to try and it topped off the meal. Good service and sat outside with a guitarist playing softly in the background. Very nice.

We really enjoyed the service in the daily specials I had my heart set that I was going to order the fish and chips but when the waitress told me that there was a daily special that sounded better than the fish and chips that I had my mind set on I wouldn’t had an order off their daily specials. The only reason why I did not give a five star Waze because the batter for the chicken strips were more of a fish batter that are not traditional for kids to enjoy so my kids to not eat their food. Other than that the clam chowder was greatNot the best but it was pretty good. Fish and chips were phenomenal. We will definitely be back don’t know when but thanks for the experience and I loved it looking out the back deck out into the bay while eating our lunch

The food and service was excellent. I ordered the special and it was marvelous. We had just traveled to the area and where there to see Shore Acres State Park Christmas lightsThe waitress told us all about it, how to get there, best time to go, and that it was worth our drive from Salem. She was correct in all her information. She also told us the shortcut to Brookings. High Tide Cafe is a very nice place, with great people, and excellent food. I recommend this place.

The service was great and the food was good. Cant complain.

Creative menu, friendly wait staff, inspirational view inside and out on the deck

It is a cozy place with the fireplace and a great view of the slough. And the service was excellent. But, besides the outstanding chowder--fresh, richly flavored--the food was so-so. Fish tacos were weirdly oily and bland. Fish and chips were ok. Generous pieces of cod, but the beer batter was just ok. Great chips, seem to be cut in house.

The food was delicious and the service friendly. Definitely get the Clam Chowder!

Definitely shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Outside the cafe isn't much of a looker, but inside has a very nice and spacious setup along with a nice view of the river out back. Food is delicious at a great price point.

I go there when I want good clam chowder and I love their fries. The fries remind me of “Boardwalk Fries” at the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland (vinegar and salt in a cup—-yum).

Attentive service, marvelous food. Appetizer of clams in wine sauce. Ribeye steak and shrimp Charleston dinner. We certainly will be back.

The special of the day (pasta seafood with spinach, garlic & Olive oil), was very satisfying! GREAT atmosphere & VIEW!!The employees & owner R VERY attentive!

Service was good, everything we were served was either overcooked or microwaved.. if I wanted microwaved food I'd do it at home. If I wanted overcooked food, I'd call my ex.

Delicious food, amazing customer service and staff, beautiful view from dog-friendly outside seating, and the beat dang clam chowder in the state. Its hard to come up with any downsides to the place, as literally the only thing I can think of is dim lighting which might make it hard to read the menus if you don't have great vision.

Excellent fish and chips and clam chowder. Patio area is really nice and the guitar player was icing on the cake. Nice job!

Incredible service, very attentive! Great clam chowder, of course! All sauces made in house, apparently, it was the best thousand island dressing I've ever had.

It was alright, my clam chowder was good but it wasnt anything spectacular.

You have to have their AMAZING clam chowder bowl with bread, crackers and butter for only $8 😁. I've had a lot of clam chowder in my life but this is the BEST!!!

We had lunch outside on the nicest day this spring had to offer. Both of us chose the burger special, it was great. Steve, the owner, knows how to prepare gourmet food.This restaurants character is pure Charleston. Big fireplace lots of conversations going on, and live music on the weekends.

Had staff and spouses in for dinner. Over 20 of us but they served us seemlessly and it was delicious.

Came in just before closing, they were awesome. The clam chowder and seafood penne pasta were rich, the bread fresh and hot. Great staff. Recommended.

I had the alfredo with chicken it was delicious the husband had fish tacos he said it was bland. Seemed a little over priced for the size if the dishes. Nice view sitting outside!

The best fish -n-chips. Yummy shrimp tacos 7 Devils beer and polite wait staff professional chefs. View is gorgeous. We were pleasantly surprised. You wouldn't know this little gem was even there. It's a must have. Our new favorite place.

Best clam chowder I’ve ever had! I would literally come back to go Oregon just for a bowl of it!

I have been over at the coast all my life. We used to have a house for summer when I was a kid in Charleston. This place has been here 17 years and I've never seen it. It had such awesome food. The service was great as well. They had outdoor seating with an area for kids to play in the lawn. If your in Charleston I recommend going here.

Great sea food place. You are getting the bite for your buck in a very roomy space. There are amazing aquatic watercolored pictures when you walk in, and the waters are extra friendly. Id definitely recommend to go if you are in the area!

AMAZING food, friendly and attentive waitstaff, and a gorgeous environment and view. Seriously, the fish and chips and clam chowder are to die for! And the back patio has all sorts of lawn games to play overlooking the river while you wait for your food or after. Best perk of all though, they allow dogs on the back patio! Just make sure to walk them around the side and not through the restaurant.

Amazing service! Wonderful cheese cake! They love dogs and allow them on there patio- lawn section, we where sceptical on bringing our dog to the patio as he hasn't been socialized much, but to our surprise he did great! Thanks so much!
